Gotland is a meeting-place in the middle of the dynamic Baltic Sea
Region. A new multi-purpose congress and assembly hall is being built in the
heart of the medieval UNESCO World Heritage Town of Visby, only 50 metres
from the sea and next door to the University College. The new congress hall
- Gotland Congress Centre - with seating for up to 1000 people will open in
the spring of 2007.
Unique environment for meetings
Gotland is one of Sweden’s most famous and desirable destinations, but still
somewhat of a hidden treasure internationally. Visby has a long tradition of
staging international meetings and offers excellent possibilities for large
events. Fascinating scenery, culture and history are all elements that make
it possible to arrange exciting events and activities in connection with
congresses.
Gotland's infrastructure handles a large number of visitors every year and
there is a smoothly functioning network that takes care of transportation,
transfers, accommodation, restaurants and exciting activities. The congress
hall is being planned in harmony with the natural conditions on Gotland and
adds a new dimension to the islands eco-sustainable profile.
The Gotland Congress Centre will be close to Almedalen Park with walking
distance to the beautiful medieval town centre, hotels and the necessary
facilities that make a congress, conference, fair, concert, seminar meeting
or event a success. The Hall will also offer restaurant facilities for
banqueting.
