Small towns offer shoppers a unique experience with the added bonus of everything being within walking distance.
In the medieval alleyways of Visby there are plenty of small boutiques and you're never far away from a cosy café in which to rest your weary shopping legs and boost your energy reserves with local delicacies. If you have access to a car, we can also highly recommend a trip into the Gotland countryside where there are plenty of opportunities to buy unique high quality products directly from the producers.
Most shops are open in Visby between 10 am and 6 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturdays. An ever increasing number of shops now also open on Sundays, usually between 12 pm and 4 pm.
The very special light on Gotland, as well as its nature and its culture, are a source of inspiration for many artists and craftsmen. Often you can buy their products directly from the artists and craftspeople at their studios or workshops, giving you the opportunity to bring home a unique memory from your trip.
